Mechatron Solar has achieved ANSI/UL3703 solar tracker standard certification for its M18KD dual-axis solar tracker and M18KD-20 carport canopy tracker. The certification was issued by SolarPTL, a Nationally Recognized Testing Laboratory. The certification also covers Mechatron's proprietary MechGrip clamping device under UL 2703 subsections for grounding.
The M18KD and M18KD-20 trackers are designed to operate in ambient temperature ranges from -40°C to +70°C, with NEMA 4 Outdoor certified controls. The power supply requirements are 3-Phase/N/PE, 230/400V AC +/- 10%, at 50-60 Hz. The trackers demonstrate exceptional wind resistance, capable of withstanding wind speeds up to 115 mph, equivalent to Category 3 hurricane wind speeds.
In terms of performance and efficiency, the M18KD tracker generates 40% more energy than ground-mount systems and 20% more than single-axis systems. This represents the highest energy density among all solar mounting designs, with the lowest ground footprint, making it ideal for carports and constrained sites.
The trackers feature warrantied 99.6% uptime reliability, with demonstrated operational stability and resilience across diverse site conditions. They offer the lowest maintenance cost over project lifespan, with Return on Investment (ROI) typically achieved in less than four years.
Mechatron Solar has installed over 90 MW across Europe and North America over the past decade. The company sources components globally with overlapping country vendors, ensuring supply chain resilience and quality.
The technology incorporates a next-generation gearless ball-bearing tracker design with gearless, hydraulic motion drives for high rotational accuracy. The system is enhanced by an advanced astronomical algorithm software engine that optimizes sun tracking.
When paired with bifacial solar panels, the M18KD tracker has demonstrated energy yield boosts ranging from 13% in California to 23% in Nova Scotia. The M18KD tracker features a 90-module table that stows at 15 feet, designed to capture more reflected light on the underside of the panels.
Mechatron Solar is an international commercial and industrial solar project developer that manufactures the M18KD tracker, designed for maximum performance in diverse climates and terrains, from open desert to heavy snow, constrained sites, and steep slopes.
